This website does not use cookies. Instead, it uses localStorage, a browser feature that stores data exclusively on your device. For more information, see the Privacy Policy.
Why localStorage is not a cookie
Unlike cookies, localStorage data is never sent to any server with your requests. It stays entirely in your browser. No website other than commitproof.com can access it, and even we cannot read it from our servers. The data exists only on your device and is fully under your control. You can view it at any time in your browser's developer tools and delete it with the buttons below.
User preferences
These entries remember your display settings so you don't have to choose them on every visit.
themeSaves your choice between light and dark mode.
langSaves your preferred language.
Proof data
These entries store your proof information locally so you can access it after a page reload or browser restart. Your original idea text never leaves your device.
commitproof_proofsYour saved proofs for the "My Proofs" overview. Stores transaction IDs and, for proofs created on this device, also the hash and salt needed for verification.
commitproof_stripe_pending:<session>Keeps your proof data while you pay on Stripe, one entry per checkout. Without it, your original and salt would be lost during the redirect. Removed once the proof is saved to your list, or when an abandoned payment returns you to the form.
commitproof_resultStores the result of a successful proof so you can reload the success page. Held in sessionStorage, so it is cleared when you close the browser tab.
Analytics
This website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-friendly, cookie-free analytics tool. It collects only aggregated usage data (page views, referrer, browser, country) and does not track individual visitors or use cookies. More details in the Privacy Policy.
Display preferences
Resets the theme and language choice to their defaults. Your proofs are not affected.
Saved proofs
Originals or file details, salts and transaction IDs of proofs created in this browser, including payments still in progress.
Deleting removes the originals and salts from this browser. Without them these proofs can no longer be verified, unless you keep another copy such as the downloaded proof files. This cannot be undone.
